Anon, who the hell is doing that? Because it sounds like you are pushing the boundary. It sounds like you are the one shoving something that will make this fictive uncomfortable onto them. Lacey isn’t doing that. She tags her posts. Her tags are the easiest to filter. But you on the otherhand, anon, are coming up to this fictive who is also implied to be a little, aka a child mentally, and telling them all this graphic stuff. That’s not on Lacey, anon, that’s not her fault. Anon, that is yours.

Creators are not responsible for how you, a fictive, relate to their creative work.

You, a fictive, do not have sole ownership over a character as a concept in fandom, or how that character is used in creative works.

I did so much over it!!! It’s so dumb!

It’s why 😼🔪 used to advise kin and fictives to just not interact in the fandoms they’re from at all. Cause some people just can’t handle themselves!!

People really think that you have a fictive of someone in your brain and they’re gonna act like they’re role-playing, when like. Okay.

It’s more like, hey! You are this character but also you’re a real person capable of change and capable of adapting and reacting to the world around you, which means that in a lot of cases the situation is going to change you as a person. Sure, the past is there but if the old reason for your existence or goal or antagonist is just gone now, what the fuck. How do you pick up the pieces from that. You are indelibly changed as a person because you now have to reorganize your entire life around a new and unfamiliar reality. And sometimes people react in weird ways and people change a lot, especially when you give them lots and lots of time to adapt to said new reality.

So yes we have blorbo in our brain but if you expect blorbo to talk like he’s still living in his old world and not this one, he’s just going to be confused and mildly put off.

Fictionkin, fictives, etc:

Remember there is/was more to your life than canon shows on screen/page.

When people write fiction, it’s common to leave out what the author feels is boring, and to concentrate on the more exciting, dangerous, stressful, and terrifying moments.

There is more to your life than that. Even if canon never shows your downtime. Even if it only shows your worst moments.

There are good moments. There was rest. There is tenderness. Even if no one else gets to see it.

It is in you.

From the fictionkin/system anon from earlier — thanks so much for telling us how things worked out in your system! Did you do any specific activities to try to figure things out when you were still in the process of determining what was what? Or did it just take time to determine who was a separate person and which pieces were just aspects? I’m not sure if this question makes sense but thank you for answering everything so far!

It took time, but there were a few exercises that we would try to do to kind of figure it out faster.

One was having the person stand in headspace and try to ‘shift’ into the person we were trying to figure out if they were the same.

Another was trying to have the two people we were evaluating try to have a conversation together, or to have them have a conversation with a third party at the same time (we used discord for this.)

Beyond that, it was just up to each of our intuition, and helping one another. Some were definitely more difficult and more emotionally charged than others.
