Because their belief that their moral view is completely objectively correct means that they make absurd leaps of logic.

Here’s how an anti thinks.

1. “Nasty icky art is bad.”

2. Therapists would not tell someone to do something that is bad.

3. Therefore therapists would not tell you to make nasty icky art.

How come I always see anti’s saying the same things about us that we do about them They say they get hatred and attacks, they say proshippers break DNI, they say that we say they deserved their abuse, everything we say over here they say we do the same thing I never see screenshots tho, so maybe that’s the difference

I am not going to read the bio of everyone I like or reblog posts from. People who don’t want me to interact with them are welcome to block me, just like I block people who annoy me.

Can someone please explain to me – are anti-shippers literally people against shipping fictional characters getting together? Is that the whole thing?

Antishippers are against anyone shipping together fictional characters in what they consider would be immoral relationships in real life.

Ok, cool, so like incest, inappropriate age gap, that kind of thing? And pro-shippers, basically anything goes? /gen

Those are the main things that antis are against, but there’s no consensus. Antis often fight about

  • how much of any age gap is okay (I’ve seen people call a 1 year age gap problematic)
  • Are childhood friends basically siblings and does that mean shipping them is incest
  • Is it okay to ship ‘toxic’ or ‘abusive’ ships and is it okay to ship enemies to lovers
  • Etc

Proshippers, yes, believe that it’s okay for anyone to ship anything they want in fiction, even if it’s problematic or taboo.

Individual proshippers have their own preferences and will block or filter types of ships that they don’t want to see or interact with.

Antis like to think nobody off tumblr cares about their censorship bullshit, but they’ll be unhappy to learn that, off tumblr, people just don’t call them “antis”. They call them moral panickers and, of course, censorship advocates. A la the satanic panickers, video game causing violence panickers, etc. Lots and lots of examples in history. Antis just like to think because they have a ‘cutesy tumblr name’ for themselves, they’re not as significant and it’s both alarming and strongly indicative of their own grossly distorted perspective..

Fancops like to have it both ways.

On the one hand they consider their bullying and abuse to have no affect on people because its “just online” and its “words on a screen”.

But at the same time they insist that everybody out in the real world agrees with them and thinks proshippers are disgusting.

They’re wrong about both things.

Hi there! There’s a user you should know about!empty-skies-edits/catgirl-izuru claims to be an anti but ships 11-12 year old children together (going so far as to make an animatic about it!) and they’ve made art and reblogged art they had on their dni list (which was on the same line as proshippers)! They’ve also stalked and harrassed proshippers before! I know someone who’s been stalked by them for a while now, and every time they move accounts they keep finding them and continuing to interact negatively! They’ve also tried to spin it as them stalking izuru bc they tried to calmly reason with them in 2 asks, and a private convo that was basically like: “yo can you like not keep mentioning me in posts if you don’t want me interacting with you?” “YOURE STALKING ME!!!!!!” (which they keep claiming this while continuously sending said person asks)Think it’s pretty hypocritical of them to claim to be an anti when there’s literal proof of them shipping children (that have a toxic relationship in canon) together but still swearing up and down that they’re anti. Just thought you should know since this kid thinks harassment is ok against proshippers. Please block and take care of yourself!

I’m sorry to hear that you’ve been going through this.

We’ve seen some of this anti’s behavior ourselves and it’s pretty truely awful. Another example of aggressive and hypocritical antis.

I hope anyone who will feel safer by blocking this user will do so.
