We are realizing more and more than antis have no concept of people who think and believe in a way other than the way they think and believe.
Antis seem to believe that there is only one category of people who think and believe in a way that they don’t, and that category is “weirdos and criminals, and weirdo and criminal are synonyms.”
Fancops seem to believe that
“all things that are illegal are bad.”
and
“all things that are bad are illegal.”
Which is just like, really fascinating to me. Like, what a thing to believe.
On Tuesday, May 29, 2007, LJers – users of the then-popular blogging site Livejournal – woke up to find that their Friends lists were showing a large number of names that had been crossed out, or strikethrough ‘ed.
It turned out that LiveJournal had permanently suspended over 500 journals based on the users’ interest lists. Interests that were likely to get a journal banned included but were not limited to: child pornography, incest, pedophilia, rape, domestic violence, BDSM, prostitution. Journals that listed things like murder, crime, drugs, cocaine, theft, tax evasion or election fraud among their creators’ interests were not banned: interests related to sexual crime were the targets.
Among the deleted ljs were RPG journals, book discussion groups [1], rape survivor blogs[2], and fannish groups, including the large and popular Harry Potter fanfiction community Pornish Pixies, which was an age-restricted community for adult HP fanfiction.

These mass-censorship events destroyed whole fanfiction and rp communities, and were the major motivating events behind the creation of Archive of Our Own and Dreamwidth.
Except sometimes they DO call law enforcement!
and the law enforcement says: stop sending us stuff about fiction, it takes our resources away from investigating actual real crime.
Take a look at this person who is saying the quiet part out loud.
It’s not that they think proshippers cause harm, it’s that they’re weird.
Not only does this person think that being weird is bad, they think you shouldn’t be allowed to be weird near other people.
The idea that there is something special and magical about sexual arousal and desire that takes away your willpower and good judgement is a lie made up by rapists to excuse rape.

❤️🔥 Reading writing or enjoying a type of sex in fiction does not mean you want to have that sex in real life.
❤️🔥 Sex is not a special magical category by itself.
❤️🔥 If you claim sexual fiction causes rape, pedophilia or incest IRL you are saying the same thing as “videogames cause violence.”
Yup. But it’s not about protection.
It’s about ship wars.
The morality is just a tool to bully people out of making ship content for anything that isn’t their ship.
