blackheart-biohazards:

Just because some of you want to bow your heads to comfortable tyrants doesn’t mean I will sit here and let it happen.

It’s not as flashy as shooting god in the face directly, but it’s still important.

“A goddamn freedom fighter!”

“You don’t have to be a good person to be a hero.”

“Sabretooth. Now, how bad did the heroes fail if it’s left to that guy to save the day?”

One of the worst things about exotrauma, is that having a traumatic memory of an event can cause you to fixate on that moment in time and it’s consequences.

It can make you unable to remember the ways things got better after that and you healed from that moment.

Exotrauma can force you to ‘redo’ pain and struggle that you’ve already healed from, because you can’t remember anything but that hurt.

It an actively keep you from being able to remember things that aren’t trauma.

Fictionkin, fictives, etc:

Remember there is/was more to your life than canon shows on screen/page.

When people write fiction, it’s common to leave out what the author feels is boring, and to concentrate on the more exciting, dangerous, stressful, and terrifying moments.

There is more to your life than that. Even if canon never shows your downtime. Even if it only shows your worst moments.

There are good moments. There was rest. There is tenderness. Even if no one else gets to see it.

It is in you.
