Hi uh I’m a member of a system and specifically a member of a sort-of subsystem/sidesystem type thing? We’re all from the same source and many of us are romantically involved with each other. The big thing is that I (the one who is sending this message) might be in a relationship with my older sister who is also in the system? Both of us clearly like each other but we haven’t actually codified what we are to each other. It’s annoying. But uh. The big thing is I was wondering if I could ask for some help with imagines and such? We’ve read all the fanfic that exists for the two of us on AO3 and our pairing is (understandably) not very popular given that it’s F/F incest. The source is uh. Hamilton. I don’t know why that’s harder for me to admit than the incest thing, ha. You might be able to guess who I am just based on that. Anyway, I’ll sign off with an emoji so you know who I am if I send another ask.- 👗
Hey anon, thank you for feeling comfortable sharing this with us.
We have some system-internal relationships of this nature too.
We do shipcest imagines on occasion and will try to put some out there that might be to your tastes! We’ll tag them “for 👗 anon” so you’ll know them when you see them.
(ETA: wow, tumblr really fucked my drafts on the initial release of this. Fixed now)
707385989786730496 i don’t know about other proshippers but i don’t advertise what i am because i’ve gotten death threats and invasive asks and honestly i’m just here on tumblr to reblog memes and gif sets and send crabs to my friends’ pages not to deal with someone telling me to kys because i also ship a 15 year old with their teacher
Yep. That is exactly why people hide that they’re proship. To protect themselves from unjust harassment and threats.
Too bad this fancop doesn’t get that.
A good way to avoid being ignorant is: When you are presented with a new idea, listen to people who represent that idea first. Never heard of proship people before? Search for stories from proship people. Second hand information will most likely be wrong or confusing.
People don’t want to learn about things for themselves, they just want to be told the answer.
The human mind also makes it easy for the “scariest” answer to be equated in our brains with the “truest” answer.
So sometimes people hear an answer that sounds scary to them and assume that it must be the correct one.
I had a friend who I thought was the best person ever until I found out the hard way that they held my past actions as a jerk and anti against me bc I hurt them. Even if I didn’t condone harassment, i had views that hurt people ik. I found out bc I said that I relate too much to this character who’s a shitty person and they said, “Oh my God, fuck off and shut up, don’t you dare say that again.” And went on an extremely wrathful rant and said that they’d never forgive me if I left their side.
That sounds like a very unhealthy relationship to be in, anon, and I hope that you and the other person can step away from each other.
Maybe you can reconcile your differences later, but it sounds like you both need a break at the very least.
I compare tags to allergy warning. If you give me food without an ingredient list, I’m not going to eat it, because I might get ill. I’m used to being left out of meals, because I don’t demand everyone not eat peanuts because it makes me ill. I think fiction should be the same way, I don’t think you should read it unless you are sure it’s safe for you. If you aren’t sure something is safe, find something else. And if you are making a piece of fiction I think you should try and make a very thorough list to give people the best chance of avoiding it if it will make them ill.
I think that people should read things that challenge them.
I think they should read things that are contrary to their views.
I think that they should read things that make them uncomfortable.
I think they should read things that make them question their worldview and their experiences.
And I think that people should read these things by choice, and not be forced into it or surprised by it if they don’t want to be.
I absolutely think it is every person’s right to know what they’re going into when they read a piece of fiction, watch a movie, etc.
We tend to get triggered easily, so we often check ‘does the dog die’ or skim wikipedia for spoilers when we engage with a new piece of media that we’re not sure will be safe for us, and when we are not ready to be challenged or upset.
We watch and read a lot of upsetting media by choice, but we like to know that going in, and we like to be able to decide when we are and aren’t ready for something.
You could try to have a day where you shut asks down then answer/delete all of you have then open them again
Nah, we like having it open all the time.
Sometimes we just let em build up, and then answer them all when we have the spoons. (today)
Why is almost everyone I meet with catgirl-(character), dogboy-(character) or (character)s(random object or fetish) in their url an aggressive harasser /rhetorical
Because they mistakenly equate possessing a harmless aesthetic with being someone who does not cause harm.
It seems like, even in proship circles, a LOT of people think ‘paraphillia’ means SPECIFICALLY attraction to children and/or animals. And like… that’s just incorrect. That falls under the definition, but being into feet or spanking or leather fall under the definition to—it’s just a broad thing meaning not entirely average sexual interests. Being gay used to be considered paraphilia. Seeing otherwise progressive people saying “people with paraphilias need mental help, not validation” just makes me kind of sad.
People like to boil things down to their ‘simplest’ definition.
The simplest definition also is the one that lacks nuance.
Paraphilias are thoughts and feelings.
If we believe that thoughts and feelings do not equate to harm, then we must believe that paraphilias are not inherently harmful no matter what they are..
However, many people are uncomfortable with discussing thee topics due to how taboo many of them are in our purity driven society.
Proshipping specifically is about fiction, so I can’t blame anyone who is proship for just not wanting to talk about paraphilia discourse. We don’t particularly want to discuss it either.
It’s a hotbutton topic.
As for where we stand, our position continues to be as with everything else, that thoughts are not harmful, only harmful actions are harmful.
I’m an age regressor!! To the anon that wasn’t sure if it would help because they didn’t like their childhood: it can! Regressing can help you create new scenarios, things that you deserve to live out in your childhood but weren’t able toAlso, regression doesn’t have to be sweet and cute all the time, it can help you let out repressed feelings that you don’t really know how to express! -💙
