And this is why the ability to tag stuff for content is so important!
I think that people should read things that challenge them.
I think they should read things that are contrary to their views.
I think that they should read things that make them uncomfortable.
I think they should read things that make them question their worldview and their experiences.
And I think that people should read these things by choice, and not be forced into it or surprised by it if they don’t want to be.
I absolutely think it is every person’s right to know what they’re going into when they read a piece of fiction, watch a movie, etc.
We tend to get triggered easily, so we often check ‘does the dog die’ or skim wikipedia for spoilers when we engage with a new piece of media that we’re not sure will be safe for us, and when we are not ready to be challenged or upset.
We watch and read a lot of upsetting media by choice, but we like to know that going in, and we like to be able to decide when we are and aren’t ready for something.

EVERYONE CAN POST IN THE MAIN TAG.
If you are upset that someone who stands for the freedom to ship whatever fictional characters you want without harassment is in the main tags, then don’t get into the fandom. The pro-ship beliefs have been there forever, this is what allows for fandoms to flourish because everyone minds their business and doesn’t get into anything they don’t like or upsets them. No one is responsible for your media consumption besides you and/or your guardians.
I dont like certain ships, but I’m not stopping someone from pairing the two together. Do as you wish.
Some people try to force the world around them to adapt to what they want, rather than adapting themselves to the world as it exists.
I’m the same way as you, anon. There are plenty of mutuals we have that are into things we don’t like, but we can still interact.
I have mutuals whom i love dearly, and when they’re in a mood my entire dash is just ‘THIS POST CONTAINS -’ because i filter it.
No i don’t wanna see blorbo from your shows! But that is a me, a individual problem. And they arent evil bad people! They’re deriving joy from something that doesnt give me joy.
Its not their responsibility to hand feed me the latest shit. That kinda attitude comes from only dealing with algorithms. There is no algorithm machine here, you follow blogs you like and since they’re run by people, they aren’t always about x thing!
This is EXACTLY why we started tagging all our fandom reblogs! We know we reblog a lot of stuff that maybe some people who follow us for other reasons don’t want to see.

Yep! Tumblr’s weird as hell. Usually its because you included a tag that’s censored.
Or sometimes its because some asshole reported your post.
Compiling a list with all the genshin “problematic” ships’ names because for the love of everything it’s impossible to search for anything tagged “A x B” since Tumblr wil give you anything tagged as “A x” and “x B” and that means ALL THE CHARACTER X READER AND YALL KEEP DOING WHAT YOU LOVE BUT BOY IS IT ANNOYING WHEN YOU’RE LOOKING FOR A SHIP (β ββ ββ Πβ ββ )β ββ 彑β β»β ββ β»
This is why we need to return to the old way of giving ships cutesy and distinctive nicknames that are easy to search for and/or to avoid.

It’s my personal system tag. It’s so people who follow our blog know which system member made which posts.
We use emoji combinations because many of us are fictives with distinctive names, and we don’t want signing our names to make unrelated posts show up in character tags or searches.
πͺπ« specifically represents me, with the muscle emoji representing my tendency to be a big strong man (Chris Redfield, Nekomaru Nidai, Reiji Kido, etc etc) and the gun representing my continued existence as as a warrior.
