I wish that we could give you some better advice here, but agere is not something that we got into deliberately or with intention.
It’s just something that happens to some of us every now and then.
Some of us lean into it, some of us try to resist it sometimes.
I can’t deny that agere experiences can make you feel extremely vulnerable.
But I feel like in a safe space, and especially with a partner or other figure you can trust, exploring that space can be very rewarding.
As someone who also had some extremely negative childhood experiences (to put it lightly), agere lets me reclaim some of my childhood and build happier experiences now.
Shout out to proship age regressors! Giving you lots of hugs, cookies and care!
imagine dressing your regressed f/o in the softest and comfiest outfit ever, to protect them from the brisk weather.
buying or making your regressed f/o a new plushie for their collection:
- watching with excitement as they start beaming and babbling about how cute they are and how they’re going to give them so much love!
- your regressed f/o going down a list of adorable names to call their new friend and asking for your input about it.
- your regressed f/o refusing to put their new friend down and don’t you dare ask them to!!! it’s apart of them now!!
- or when it’s clean up time and your regressed f/o reluctantly puts their new buddy in a super duper special spot — they keep a keen eye on them!! and they make you watch their friend too, just in case!
- building friendship points with your regressed f/o’s new plushie so that you can tag along when they’re spending time together doing fun stuff!
- you enjoy sewing? sit with your regressed f/o to pick out fabrics and accessories to assemble their new plushie an adorable outfit.
Oh! That’s really interesting! I wasn’t aware of that distinction. I’ll be honest, I actually thought that a bunch of people had started using “agere” because of discourse surrounding other terms…
Can anybody tell me if this distinction between age sliding and agere is commonly held?
Are people who don’t fit this definition of agere welcome in the community?
Soooo…. I’m gonna guess since nobody had a reply to this, that nobody but anon cares, and even anon doesn’t care enough to send a follow up message….

I don’t think it’s very common at all. In community I use be in as a age slider of a system, there was always this silent “don’t assume if someone is slided down they’ll be the same as slided up”
which was like we might not remember adult things or not compute them well anymore or we might be fine and just see them through small brain
And that what I’m use to and never saw anyone specifically separate it like that
Slide usually meant more someone age moved a lot or was many different with no set main age, especially for systems and is still used in similar way
Regression usually meant an adult who sometimes go kid
I slide since I move in age and sometimes retain memories and processes a bit. Sometimes I don’t and sometimes my age go up up not down, past my usual most common age.

Thank you! This is how I understood the term “age regression” to be used as well! I’m glad I wasn’t alone in using it and seeing it used that way!
“Age slider” used to be used in the plural community to refer to a system member who shifted between ages instead of having a fixed age but I don’t even know if the plural community still uses it!
I was pretty sure everybody’s switched to agere including the spicy side of things. I used to see the term “ab” a lot but I don’t think that gets used any more either!
