Why do people say I’m trauma dumping when i’m just talking about my life experiences that I don’t see as trauma

Hmmm, anon, in my experience there are two possibilities here.

Possibility one: like a lot of people you have traumatic experiences that you have not yet processed and understood as trauma.

When you talk about these experiences it makes other people uncomfortable because they recognize their upsetting and traumatic nature.

Possibility two: people are using a recently popularized buzzword to shut down any conversation they don’t want to have, and abdicate the responsibility for caring about other people.

Please note that there is a lot of space for nuance between these two possibilities, I am not a therapist, just a funny little girl, and I don’t know any details about your situation!

Do you think it’s okay for a blog that normally posts/reblogs fluffy/sfw content to occasionally drop some nsfw content? I’ve been wanting to share some writing about stuff but I’m a little lost on where to post it.It’s not really…”problematic” enough for the pro-para blog, but at the same time I feel a little weird posting it to the proship blog because? Idk I guess I’m looking for some reassurance? I’m really nervous about…everything, really. I just wanna share my stuff with the world. These characters nobody knows about, these worlds nobody else has seen.

It’s absolutely okay, anon. It’s YOUR blog. It’s YOUR space. Anybody who doesn’t like the content you post can leave.

Tag your posts correctly, so that the people who have such things filtered won’t see it, and if you want to, throw on the ‘mature’ filter And people who have that turned off won’t even see it at all.

Your blog is for YOU. The other people who see it are incidental.

Don’t be afraid to post the things that make you happy.

do you/followers have any tips for unlearning anti rhetoric? was never an anti myself (i’ve honestly retreated into the proshipping ‘closet’ over time, unfortunately) but after years online the constant hatred has worn me down and i’ve experienced myself internalizing antis’ views in a way that really really sucks ): mostly what i’m scared about is the fact that i want to talk about these things but i’m terrified of harassment.

My personal best tip is to separate yourself from the people and places you think will harass you.

Start a new, proship-aligned online identity, block anyone you think might run into and recognize you immediately, and just start posting and making friends!

Our followers may have some more tips for you for unlearning the actual anti rhetoric.

It’s incredibly helpful, thank you. I’ll try to figure out a way to manage it, but we’re poor so it’s hard.It probably stems from a childhood in poverty, if anything at all. I should probably do some research into it. Thanks.

Man, pal, I relate to that so damn hard. Poverty is a fucking bitch and definitely a big influence on Sinister in general and me in specific. Sending you all the love and good wishes in the world for dealing with that shit.

Hey, uh, idk of this is the right place for this but I recently realized I might have Kleptomania. Like actually. Anyway I also have Issues and I would actually trust you guys with my life so if you wouldn’t mind giving me advice/showing me where I can get advice to not…y’know…go to jail for shoplifting* that would be great.*Like, ideally I wouldn’t steal anything but everytime I am in a place with Things I get grabby, especially when I’m alone, and somehow nothing has been stolen yet but I worry because lately it’s getting worse. How do I curb these urges without…y’know…?

Hey, pal, Nine (🐸☠️) here, I feel you on the shoplifting urges. I have been a petty thief in past both in my other lives and yeah I dragged the body into it irl here in our past.

We haven’t shoplifted in years, but I still get the urge a lot especially when a store is a really good ‘mark’. (Narrow aisles, aisles blocking the view between the desk and the exit.. hahah…)

Here is my advice on how I stop myself.

I remind myself that it just ain’t worth the hassle if I get caught.

An interaction with a security guard, cop, etc would just fucking ruin my day. Even if I’m real good (and yeah I am pretty good) the chance of getting caught just isn’t worth interrupting my day.

I will also warn you that once you have shoplifted you get a sting of anxiety EVERY time you go through a store alarm gate, even when you haven’t done anything. Super shitty drawback.

I indulge the itch sometimes by playing stealing games with people I know and trust. Stealing stuff out of their room or purse or whatever when they aren’t looking (they have agreed to this) and then giving it back later. That way it’s like a magic trick, you know?

I am sorry you are dealing with these urges and itchy fingers anon, I hope my advice has been worth something. Lemme know if I can do any more to help.

Peace, pal.
