Chris lay in his bed in the facility, letting Wesker curl around him like a cat.
Wesker, now that he was back, he looked so young. He looked just like he did back then, when everything had gone so wrong. Just like when he has been the captain of STARS, and Chris had been his faithful lieutenant.
Wesker looked the same; beautiful and whole, unscarred by the years between them.
Looking at him made Chris feel old, And haggard, monstrous even, like some disheveled beast.
He tried to find the words to tell Wesker how he was feeling, but words failed him, as they always seemed to.
This time, at least, his former captain seemed to understand.
He cupped Chris’ stubbly chin with his hand, and leaned in.
He kissed Chris on the scar across his eyebrow, and the one over his nose.
“Still as handsome as ever, Chris,” Wesker murmured to him. “I ought to be jealous.”

Nobody thinks that Wesker is going to show up, despite having been invited, and they get started without him.
Wesker does show up, though, late, and by that time Chris is already well and truly drunk. Despite this, he insists on getting the door.
“Captain Wesker!”
Upon seeing that Captain Wesker is there, he grins, and throws his arms around him, pulling him into a hug before he’s even out of the doorway.
Wesker is taken aback, but given that he’s shown up with a santa hat over his usual shades and a bag full of presents for the rest of STARS he can’t exactly complain.

“You’re soft, Albert,” Redfield growled, holding Wesker pinned tight against the wall, faces almost nose to nose. “You’ve always been soft. Well? Think you can clever your way out of this?”
“I still have a trick up my sleeve,” Wesker gasped. He leaned forward and kissed his attacker on the mouth.
