You’ve said this before, but incest as a plot point is, like, the best romantic angst? Cause most other sources of angst feel so manufactured–like, character doesn’t want to ruin their friendship by confessing their feelings. Okay, but, like, eventually either give it a try or don’t–if they don’t feel the same it’s not the end of the world, you can stay friends easy if you’re both mature people. But you don’t want to ruin your FAMILY by confessing your feelings? Now THAT is hard to recover from, that’s the real shit.

The only other way to even approach that level of angst and ‘we can’t be together’ good shit is to write queer relationship specifically in a pre 2000s setting.

We did not even consider it as a possibility until somebody asked out opinion on it a couple of months ago.

Now it’s a big comfort ship for us for the two of them, and we’ve recently written some fanfic. We think it works best as a ‘side ship’ for both of them in a larger romantic framework.

They had a very codependent childhood, and no matter where they are in their lives or who else they’re with they can always come back to one another.

What’s your opinion on Wintersberg? (Not trying to get you attacked, I’m just genuinely curious ^<^)

Haha! So, this is a funny story actually. 😼🔪 here just gonna go ahead and answer this speaking as Heisenberg.

I initially *hated* winters/berg content. I straight up had it keyword blocked on Tumblr. Didn’t want to see it. I called him ‘boring mold man’, and talked about how he was clearly too busy being the world’s best dad to be an interesting partner.

Then he showed up in sinister system

And it turned out he was a a close partner of mine in another lifetime.

So there’s egg on my face. Hehe…

Yeah we weren’t together in RE lifetime even after we got both our asses resurrected, but I’ve soften on the content in retrospect. Unblocked it. I’ll reblog a cute pic here or there.

But it’s still not in my top Heisenberg ships OR my top Ethan ships 🤣

I know what you mean about kins getting in the way of ships (well- kinda). We have a few headmates that are completely squicked by some things I would normally try out. In fact, before B showed up, I read Dead Dove fics for his character a lot. But it really upsets/triggers him, so I can’t anymore. It’s a fair trade to having someone as sweet as him here, though.

🤝 we have a few situations like that in our system, the one that was mentioned is probably the strongest one. Another one we avoid is gund/ham and Kazu/ichi because our Kazu/ichi is very dom and hates to see all the art that makes him into and uwu woobie sub boy.

Which is a shame because I really liked the pairing before the both of them woke up in system >_>

Celeste and Hifumi!!! yes yes yes big ship 😀 We wish there was more content of them. (Or more content of poor Hifumi in general). They’re honestly so cute. We love the idea of him just getting completely flustered around her.

Big oof. NOTP.

Can’t fuck with it personally, because our experience of Jun/ko is not of a person who was capable of anything even close to real affection or a relationship of any kind, and she really, lastingly damaged my f/o Muk/uro.

Our interpretation of Jun/ko isn’t the only one out there, and we’re happy to see that other people know a Jun/ko who was perhaps capable of more, even in a warped way, but we have to steer clear of any Jun/ko content whatsoever.

I’ll admit, I can’t look at despair/cest without getting upset :/ it sucks.

tl;dr personal kintype experiences turn what would be a really cool and fun ship into a complete squick nightmare.
