to be clear: the right views any sex that isn’t purely procreative as deviant. it’s not just kink, or queer sex they find abhorrent. And they genuinely believe that the better educated you are about sex in general, including about gender shit, the more deviant you are. they’re legitimately trying to claw everyone down to hell with them.
saying bdsm enables violence is like saying martial artists enable violence
targeting the people play fighting for fun, growth and connection is shallow. it critisizes aesthetics, not material effects
its a detraction from genuine causes of violence
and my experiences in kink and martial arts are genuinely very similar. they both enrich my life deeply
the biggest difference is that martial arts doesn’t carry stigma the way sex does. people have to critisize why they assume sex is inherently *different* from everything else
anyone else find the desexualization of queer people extremely uncomfortable. like it’s not “queer people are not inherently sexual” but instead “queer people are never sexual and portraying them sexually or being attracted to them is fetishization” which makes me extremely fucking weirded out actually
