I actually tend to make a lot of the decisions, but we very much mutually discuss things– outside of a crisis snap-judgement situation.
BB will make decisions when he has to, and he’s a fantastic leader, but command was thrust upon him, it doesn’t come naturally, if only because he agonizes over the consequences of his decisions.
I wouldn’t say it comes naturally to me exactly, but I don’t know, maybe.

You would think a snake, but no, he’s much more like a big dog or a brown bear.

🤕 – Has your F/O ever hurt you physically? Whether intentionally or otherwise, what happened? How did they make it up to you?
We had a bloody knife/fist fight in top of a nuclear missile silo while I was trying to stop him from launching said nukes.
In his defence he was not in his right mind at the time, and thought I was a clone sent to kill him.
We ended up bleeding out on top of one another. We held each other while the warning sirens for launch were blaring, he realized I was the real one, and we kissed, and then I got sent back in time to try again…

Code name: Steel Heron
F/O: Big Boss
Origin story: Heron is the secret biological child of Doctor Strangelove and The Boss through artificial means.
During an attack on her life in the “present day”, Hazel was killed and her powers first initialized. She was thrown backwards in time all the way to before her own birth.
By happenstance she arrived in time to save the life of a powerful political figure and due to the accolades from that event ended up getting pulled into the Virtuous Mission to rescue Sokolov, and the subsequent mission against Volgin and the Boss herself.
During the mission together, she and Snake became extremely close, saving each other’s lives multiple times. They promised to start dating once they were both out done being hospitalized as a result of their injuries sustained in the field at the end of the mission.
However, fate was against them, and after a single date, another attack on Heron catapulted her back into her own part of the timeline, as if she had never left. There she was shocked to find that the man she has known as Snake had somehow gone on to become known as the terrorist Big Boss.
She promised herself, and him, that she would find out what had gone wrong, and get back to him no matter the cost.
Special Abilities: Temporal Reset
Hazel’s exposure to so-called “Chrono radiation” has made her unstable in time, giving her the involuntary ability of being snapped back in time every time she dies.

6: In the future/good end of her story Hazel has a whole bunch of dogs along with Big Boss. 💕
10: their relationship basically screws everything up for everyone in power, becoming a secondary motivation for BB’s mental breakdown after she gets sucked back into her own time.
Once she manages to get back in time far enough to get to mother base it definitely takes a long time for some people to warm up to her, too, worrying that she is up to something or not who she says she is. (A valid fear given that there are clones of her running around).
🤣 Big Boss stares at her in horror after she put her foot in her mouth, and the horror only gets worse when she puts a gun to her head.
And then it’s five minutes ago and the only messy thing at the table is the BBQ sauce.
The “kill yourself and not die” post is relevant to me personally because my MGS self insert has “time cancer” that means she gets shot back in time a certain amount any time she dies.
Eventually gets real comfortable “sending herself back” if she gets too injured or screws up an infiltration approach and gets cornered.
15. how does your self insert play a role in the plot of the story? do they help directly defeat the villain, support the heroes, etc.?
Jasmine is a major support character. She’s not really a fighter (though she’s gotten pointers with a knife from Jack), but just here presence in the narrative changes the whole trajectory of it by giving the heroes allies who would otherwise be enemies.
16. freebie! name a fact about your self insert you want everyone to know.
Jasmine is the early awakened dreamer in the third human sburb game in her cycle. That means she woke up on Derse when she was only a small child. Since she lived alone on her island on earth she spent much of her time sleeping, awake in Derse instead. Friendly and inquisitive she ended up befriending the Dersite agents mostly through sheer childish persistence.
She became so attached to them, and living on Derse absorbed so much of their culture and ideology that her main goal became to subvert the game and the prophecy, rather than trying to create a universe.
4. would you be considered a main character, side character, villain, or something else?
Willow is a villain protagonist. Her story takes place aside from the main stage, underground in her lab in the sewers of Robotropolis. She’s fighting a personal war against Robotnik (her uncle), and has an enemies and lovers, (to enemies to lovers relationship) with Robotnik’s minion Snively (her older cousin).
