Even putting that all aside, it’s not a librarian’s job to gatekeep or decide what is or isn’t okay for someone to read.Storytime! A while back, I was visiting a library to try and find some wlw books, and I was looking for stuff that was preferably on the more NSFWish side. Now, I’m a trans woman and at that point I did NOT pass well. So if the librarians had been allowed to gatekeep based on their own judgement, I could have been turned away. It’s almost like gatekeeping always hurts the minorities more than (and before) anyone else.
