68. Are there any fics that influenced you to write the way you do?
The fics that influenced us the most are a couple of big, novel length anime fandom fics from the early internet.
Mark Latus’ Dark Kingdom Renegades series (Sailor Moon fic)
and Stefan “Twoflower” Gagne’s Slayers Trilogy. (A trilogy of Slayers anime novels)
Stefan, as it happens, went on to do great things. He wrote the game Arcade Spirits.
Do you daydream a lot before you write, or go for it as soon as the ideas strike?
We mostly like to strike while the iron is hot, so to speak, but sometimes, especially with longer works, we’ll ruminate on an idea for a while before it gets written down.
What’s the last line you wrote?
“Yes you have another ride?” Chris once again looked like dog confused by its owner’s behavior.
Do you work on multiple wips or stick to one fic at a time?
We tend to focus all my effort on one long project at a time, while writing lots of little drabbles and snippets throughout.
Do you listen to music while you write? If yes, what have you been listening to recently?
What’s your favorite time to write?
We work best (at least on longer stuff) in the early/mid morning when we’re freshest and have the most mental energy.
Do you have a writing routine?
Aside from trying to write in the morning, and trying to write as many days a week as possible, no routine!

What fic are you proudest of?
If fanfic webcomics count (and they do) we’re proudest of Silent Hill: Promise. Over 1000 illustrated pages, 10 sporadic years of work,and a successful completion.
The fic we’re proudest of from many years ago is Darwinian Rhapsody, (an x men evo Toad x OC fic) again, very pleased with having successfully finished it. Written in 2003 and desperately needs to be uploaded to AO3.
(We also have a similar in spirit but much better written and more recent toad x OC fic X Men: Re-evolution. Which is complete to the end of the first arc)
Recent fic we’re proudest of is definitely the still in progress Primrose Path we’re writing with @megaphonegirlk its wild to think we’ve written 60k in like two months. Really hoping to finish this one too.
Recent completed fic we’re proudest of is Drawing the Line (also written with our partners). It’s an octogoblin fic and it really made us happy to see how many people liked it.
Who’s your favorite character you’ve written?
I don’t know if this question is even possible to answer. Honestly? Maybe Todd Tolensky. He’s just so fun. A joy to write.
Do you listen to music while you write? If yes, what have you been listening to recently?
Sometimes. We actually find lyrical music too distracting on top of internal system chatter when we write, so usually we listen to either classical or vaporwave/mallsoft if we need background sound while we’re writing.
