I once heard an analogy from a fellow proshipper; Imagine you’re in a room with two huge buttons, and the only way to get out of the room is to press one of the two buttons. One button will kill off your blorbo in their show, and their death will be canon to their story, and the other button will kill a real person who is similarly trapped in the other room. Just like you, they cannot escape until you press just one of the two buttons.

If you’re anything like me, you obviously press the button that kills your blorbo. A bunch of my blorbos canonically die anyway, and I would much rather have a narrative change than have a real person die.

If you’re an anti, you immediately hit the button to kill the real person, and the floor opens up beneath you so you fall into hot lava, because you are a real person, and you just illustrated how a fake construct matters to you more than a real person.
