There’s this fic I’ve had bookmarked since it first got published, and it’s one of my favorites! Recently, I’ve been thinking about leaving a comment just to express to the author how much I enjoy their work, but I’m not very good with words, so I don’t really know what exactly I should say.I know this is a bit of a silly question, but do you have any advice on what might qualify as a “good comment”? πŸ˜…

What counts as a “good comment” varies from author to author, but here are some types of comments that almost never go wrong.

  • “I love this so much.”
  • “thank you for writing this.”
  • “this fic makes me feel (your emotion here)”.
  • “I’m re-reading this again.”
  • “I loved this part! (Paste line or section here.)
  • A string of heart emojis.
  • "I wish I could kudos a second time.”
  • “I love your writing ”
  • “I don’t know what to comment but I wanted to let you know how much I enjoy your work.”

I hope this helped you out, anon! I know your author will be really happy to receive any comment you give!

That first sentence is an excellent, heartwarming comment. Anon, if you see this, as a writer that would make me smile so hard.
