See the chap with glasses and an incredible moustache in the bottom right? that’s Magnus Hirschfeld, the gay Jewish doctor who ran the Institut für Sexualwissenschaft (Institute for Sexual Research) in Berlin. It was largely his books, his research that the Nazis burned.

regarding that recent anon and the screenshot of the anti who was calling someone a “tif” and yaoi a “straight female fetish”, is anybody else uncomfortable with how often people who are so violently against fetishes or fanfiction will say things like “kiddie porn”, “kiddie diddlers”, “chomos”, and other slang terms, including the way they say “map” and “pedo” in a pejorative slang way (ie tone, where it doesn’t apply, etc)? like, they refuse to use actual terminology appropriately (csem, csa, cocsa, etc) and call non-pedophiles (ie people who just like anime girls) “pedos”, and then they say some professional psychologist who says “map”, because in psychology a paraphilia is more specific, is “using cutesy terminology”. meanwhile as a survivor of severe abuse, terms like “kiddie diddler” for my abusers feels a lot worse than some psychologist using neutral, but explicitly descriptive, terms (“minor attracted” doesn’t obfuscate that they’re attracted to minors, while “kiddie diddler” and “kiddie porn” definitely obfuscate “child sexual abuse” and “child sexual abuse materials” respectively). this is also an issue with people who advocate for the death penalty for abusers too- I’ve heard them say “kiddie diddler” more than I’ve ever heard somebody who takes a more compassionate stance, as they usually use language much more respectful to the victim. it makes it really hard to believe they’re actually coming at this from a stance of genuine compassion, or even disgust, because it’s a playground insult that clearly isn’t going to make victims feel comfortable. if you’re advocating to literally kill people, that’s supposed to be a pretty grave conversation, not the time for the sorts of things I, despite being a very crude person with a very dark sense of gallows humour about the abuse I went through, have only tended to say after a bottle of jäger- even the pope song by tim minchin isn’t on my “coping with my abuse” style playlists, as it uses the term “kiddie fucker” iirc. all of these antis constantly using this obfuscating and childish turn of phrase for serious situations makes it really hard to believe they’re the side who genuinely takes any of this stuff seriously at all- or at least it would if I was at all inclined to believe that in the first place ig.

Yeah I 100% agree with you.

The language they use is extremely dismissive and does not give any of these things any real weight.

It gets even better when you realize that, before the restaurant opened, it was an abandoned used car lot. She was literally complaining about an abandoned property being bought and actually USED for something. Because in Lestat’s final scene he walked by the car lot and looked at his reflection in one of the car windows.

I have never enjoyed anything more as I have enjoyed imagining Lestat’s reaction to learning that his final resting place is a restaurant owned by a fast food executive.

I bed everyone to read this article, which includes not only mr. Copeland writing “PS see you in court” but also anne rice writing AS LESTAT and thereby ADJUSTING “CANON” that lestat isnt in the restaurent bc it was so ugly it woke him from his slumpers

This is SUCH a Lestat thing to do though…Lestat most definitely would take an ad out in a paper to critize an ugly restaurant he believed didn’t suite the ambience of New Orleans . If that’s not Canon idk what is . I can see him looking across the street in horror and calling his lawyers while Louis just sits there done with life.
