Some fandom history.

Antishippers may have only called themselves that for the past few years, but people like them have always been in fandom.

Warriors for Innocence was an online based organization whose stated goal is “hunting pedophiles where they fester”.

From their website, Warriorsforinnocence.org (hosted by Blogger.com) targeted online pedophile/sexual abuse related journals and then informed the hosts of those journals, such as Livejournal, of content which they claim breaches ToS agreements.

They also took steps to inform advertisers of those blog sites of the content of some of the blogs, which they claimed led to said advertisers pulling their advertising from the Livejournal site.

Warriors for Innocence was a group that was reportedly behind the complaints to Six Apart that led to Strikethrough.

A self-admitted former Warriors for Innocence supporter created a Tumblr page to hunt down people who support “homosexuality, pedophilia and incest”.

And here is an excerpt from that Tumblr page

I will introduce myself. I am a former supporter of the “Warriors for Innocence” organization, a group dedicated to bringing down the perversion that resided at LiveJournal as of 2007. While I am not affiliated to this group, I am acting in their name. This resulted in “Strikethrough” and “Boldthrough”, a move that was widely condemned by perverted fanartists and fanfic writers. They dismissed it as infringing on their freedom of expression. But it’s not. Our group tried (and succeeded) to end the liberal idiocy on LJ. Children were viewing these blogs, and were being influenced by immoral behaviours.

Now, I am restoring this group, as it has come to my attention by viewing your blogs that you support the perverted behaviours of homosexuality, incest and pedophilia. I have only selected a few of you perverts because Tumblr is a cesspool of ignorance and sin. Do you people not realize that these behaviours are sinful? We at Warriors for Innocence support morality. Not the disgusting things you come up with.

Why do you people hate God? Why must you continue these behaviours? By writing fanfiction and drawing fan art of these despicable acts, you are condoning it in society. Homosexuality is a sin in the Bible, which is the literal word of God. Therefore, you must stop doing this. And don’t come with the nonsense that God does not exist. The Bible is literal proof of the existence of God. That you don’t realize that shows how much you are morally in the dark:

Did you know that 2nd person fic is banned on fanfiction.net?

It has been banned on the site since 2005.

Do you know why it was banned?

Because the archive owners consider it to be “child porn.”

Do you know what the irony here is?

Porn of any kind was already banned on the site since 2002.

Here’s a quote from the site runners at the time.

The first, and most important reason is because it can be considered a form of child porn. Say, for example, you’re reading a “You based fic” that goes along just fine for a few chapters, but then comes to a part with a lemon (sex scene), that story is having someone run their hands down your buddy, exploring your more intimate attributes, removing your clothes, laying you down, you get the idea, yes? Now lets say that you’re 13 years old reading this story. The person responsible for writing said story is now guilty of child porn, and if an angry parent found out they could not only sue the site itself but also prosecute the writer and have them labeled as a sex offender for the rest of their life.

I saw this on FB today and I wanna try and express something about it. Like, you know the curbcutter effect? Where when curbcuts are put in it benefits everyone (bicyclists, people with baby strollers etc) and not just disabled people?

There is also whatever the opposite of the curbcutter effect is. And this is that.

This isn’t just anti-adhd/autism propaganda… this is anti-child propaganda.

Kids have developmentally appropriate ways that they need to move their bodies and express themselves and sitting perfectly still staring straight ahead is not natural or good for ANY CHILD.

Don’t get me wrong, I was punished unduly as a kid for being neurodivergent (and other types of kid will ALSO be punished unduly for it… Black kids come to mind) and thus UNABLE to perform this – but even the kids who ARE able to perform this type of behavior are not SERVED WELL by it. They don’t benefit from it.

This is bad for everyone.

The idea that bc some kids may be capable of complying with unfair expectations, those expectations don’t hurt them… is a dangerous idea. Compliance isn’t thriving. Expectation of compliance isn’t fair treatment.
